Te Pūtake Living
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Te Pūtake Living ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through teputakeliving.co.nz, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you make an enquiry, use the Whare Builder, or contact us, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, region, and information about your whenua or project. Share only what you are comfortable sharing; you can start a conversation with us with just a name and a way to reply.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you moved through the site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Website experimentation and A/B testing
We want this website to genuinely help whānau, trusts, and partners take their next step, so we continuously test and improve it.
We use RunPivot (runpivot.com), a website experimentation platform, to run A/B tests. This means some visitors may see a different version of a headline, image, layout, or button than others, and we measure which version helps people find what they need.
What this involves:
- RunPivot places a cookie or similar identifier in your browser so you see a consistent version of the site during a test
- It measures anonymous interaction data, such as which pages are visited and which links are clicked
- It does not collect your name, email, or enquiry details as part of testing
- Test data is used in aggregate to improve the website experience, never to make decisions about you as an individual
You can learn more about RunPivot's data practices at runpivot.com/privacy-policy.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and support your project journey
- To provide and improve the Whare Builder and this website
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can make it better
- To meet our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your enquiry details for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run this website and our business, such as our website hosting provider, email provider, and RunPivot for website experimentation as described above. These providers may store data outside New Zealand; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable privacy safeguards apply.
We may disclose information where required by law.
Cookies and your choices
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete them at any time. The site will still work, though some features and our ability to improve your experience may be limited.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact us at nuk@teputake.co.nz and we will respond promptly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
